Alfi Heritage

Love’s the only engine of survival Steeped in History We Care About Your Hands Archive Illustrations
The only way to stay around in our industry for all these decades is by having a genuine love of cooking and the high-performance tools that streamline and maximize the experience. The Alfi International family is replete with a long line of cooks, prolific vegetable growers, and even a classically-trained chef-in-residence The plants of Bethlehem may be closed, but America’s backbone is still made of I-beams. We work hard to give you only the most ergonomic products that are a relief and joy for your hands and wrists. One of our highest goals is to give you beautifully functional products that will stand the test of time and heavy usage.
From Turbine to Table American ingenuity Resilience California Dreaming
The land of Howard Hughes, Los Angeles was once the epicenter of the aerospace industry. While much of the Aerospace industry has gone away, you can still find the best technical talent in the world right here in Southern California, where many of these brilliant engineers and technicians have taken their experience making mission-critical aircraft parts and applied it to making the highest-performance consumer products in the world. We are a company of tinkerers and inventors. Our products as well as our personnel are the toughest and best. This photograph was taken by one of our favorite local artists, the award-winning cinematographer David Speck. Our aesthetics, customer service and company culture all draw inspiration from our grand surroundings. The California landscape envelops us with: invariable warmth, generosity, natural abundance, pioneer spirit, originality, the highest environmental and workplace standards in the world, beauty on a grand scale, and that world-famous “California Cool.”
Perfectionism Smooth Operators Moonlight Drive Roots of Steel
Fun Fact: in a recent personality type-test, most Alfi managers discovered they shared the dominant personality type known as “Maximizer”- in other words, they are mostly a bunch of obsessive perfectionists. We pretty much ship out all orders same-day (except of course for custom jobs). Alfi personnel make some amazing feats of precision look like a piece of cake and most of them have an amazing sense of humor. Except for Howard who lost his sense of humor in the late 1980’s. This is the type of view to be seen from the Pacific Coast Highway around Sunset. Alfi employees are the best in the world at what they do.
Mission Critical Roots High Performance Tempered Tantrum Powerful Blades
Some may call our approach overkill. We call it awesome. After all, one of our favorite writers is a guy named Dan Neil who won the Pulitzer for writing lowly car-reviews in the LA Times. We love this idea of applying heavyweight talent to important every day objects that our customers depend on. We are suckers for pretty much anything that demonstrates truly superior performance, and that’s what consumes us. What’s the point in making anything of medium-performance? We’ll never understand. Only the finest, most rugged materials will do. Since the days of John Muir, California has always been filled with this sort of forward-thinking, and we are proud to play our own little part in California’s tradition of preserving our beautiful environment.
A family business A is for Alfi A is for Artisans Californian Design
Our family of growers, cooks and adventurers bring lifetimes of passion to our daily labors. We don’t think of our goals and dreams in terms of quarters— we think in terms of decades and generations. We are suckers for pretty much anything that demonstrates truly superior performance, and that’s what consumes us. What’s the point in making anything of medium-performance? We’ll never understand. Artisan quality tools for artisan bakers. Seamlessly integrated ergonomics and safety features.

Steve Jobs credited simple, modernist Eichler homes with helping develop his keen design sensibilities and they were a major part of the Conejo Valley landscape as they were in Silicon Valley. Alfi likewise values simple, well-built elegance in our product design and aesthetic. In the same Californian tradition as the Eichler homes, Alfi favors elegant, well-built simplicity in our product design and aesthetic.
